Was your first lipstick Tangee Natural?

Do you remember that lipstick that was orange in the tube, went on almost transparent, then turned color on you? When I was in junior high school, it was the only lipstick my friends and I were allowed to wear. My mother said it was the most popular lipstick in her time, too.

I'd forgotten all about my very first lipstick, which was none other, than, you guessed it, Tangee Natural. I like the color of it %26amp; it tasted good too. Thanks for another great stroll down memory lane. :)Was your first lipstick Tangee Natural?
Thank you for selecting my answer. It was great indeed to use a lipstick that was so compatible with everything. Do you remember those tubes of lipstick that came in their very own oval carrying case that had a mirror in it too? Report Abuse

Oh my goodness!!! What a memory you brought up for me!

I remember that so well. It was so much fun.

Jackie Blue- I also so remember the white lipstick. I was in my early 20's but I wore it just to ' keep up'. LOL
of course i remember it.....it was a affordable product...remember when Revlon put out ';fire and ice'; lipstick..........stayed their best seller for years!
I think we had Yardley, Maybelline, %26amp; Corn Silk in the 60's. Then there was that horrid Avon stuff. I don't recall Tangee brand. I think it was before my time.
WOW . I am really miffed ..this is the 2nd time in a row tonight - that I have sensed a distinct odor of something buried in my past . I not only recall what it looked like , I can sense the odor as though it were this morning . I did use it . And yes , it was my first one . I don't know what brought this one with recalling a sense of smell - but it's cool .
Yes. I didn't remember the brand name. But I had lipstick that was orange in the tube and colored a bit when you put it on. I think I was about 13.
i don't remember the name of mine but it was a light pink and I was a freshman in high school
When I was about 12 my mom was an Avon Rep and she had a little box full of sample lipsticks. I used to love to get in there and try them out. They were just like little mini tubes of lipstick. She still had them 40 years later and my daughters played with them.
I was thinking about Tangee lipstick just the other day. Yes, it was the only kind of makeup we were allowed to wear as teenagers. I also remembered the mascara that came in cake form with a tiny brush. A drop of water had to be added to it in order to apply it. I think it was Maybelline, but I cannot be certain of this. It is amusing to think about how different today's young people have so much makeup available compared to my young days.
No. Mine was Lipsmackers by Bonne Bell. Sedate color with a slight gloss. Geez! How old are you? 90? And why were you wearing makeup in junior high?
Oh my, I haven't thought of that product in years and years. I

don't remember if it was my first lipstick, but it was among

them. When girls my age turned 13, that was the official age

we were allowed to wear a little lipstick. Usually very light in

color. There wasn't such a thing as lip gloss back then. So

generally, what one girl bought, the others' followed. No one

wanted to be set apart. We all wanted to be alike to a point.

Hairstyles may be different, but the first lipsticks were the

same colors. Everyone wanted to be cool and look cool. And

we felt so grown up wearing lipstick. And we were officially

teenagers finally. Oh, and for those girls who hadn't become

13 when the majority did, we just kept it to ourselves. After

all, who would know, except for we individuals?
Yes! I'd forgotten that!
I am glad you posted this. I think I do remember having that lipstick. I also remember the white lipstick around 1966 or so. Omg, do you remember it? We looked as goofy as the ones that wear the black lipstick now. The white lipstick was during the time the fluorescent colors were so popular. The 'mod' look. lol We all thought we were so cool with that white lipstick, now it's funny to think about it.
